- Rendered two clips
- Imported into imovie
- Set up transitions
- I had set up credits the previous class 4/29/10
- Tried to record a sound that was as close to the rubber ball sound that I wanted > fail
- Searched the building for a rubber ball > found one in a closet on the 2nd floor
- Recorded it in garageband > exported it
- Placed the sound in the animation in imovie but the sound was way too loud and lasted for 4 seconds so I had to make it quieter and shorter
- length was set to .15 and the sound level set to 8% which was made to steadily decrease at the end of the ball bounce sequence

5/3/10
I was under the impression that it was to be completed by Tuesday so I worked from about 5:30 PM-1:00 AM
5/4/10
The Animation was complete but since there was time it was edited further
- I put in Freeze Frames at the beginning, each frame approx 3-4 seconds
- I inserted bounce sounds at .15 seconds in length sound level 8%
- I moved segments around without noticing their content and thus the timing for the sounds were off
- I readjusted the frames and sounds so that they flowed and the sounds matched up just right
- I changed the opening credits and ending credits backgrounds to a beige fabric weave background, I wanted to the change the color of it but I couldn't find a way to do so in a timely manner
- I watched the animation all the way through and found that I could make more edits
- I shortened clips so that the ball was up in the air about to fall down prior to going onto the next clip
- I also shortened some clips as a means to get the background sound to better fit the animation's intended emotions
- Just shortly after 3 I exported the file as a quicktime > fini

Classwork 4/29/10 >>>> 3
Got another Render done while Writing my research paper, I'm going to go home and render the remainder of them there and celebrate the fact that this is going to be complete with some time to spare and that I finally finished a research paper!!!!!!!!!
Classwork 4/29/10 >>>> 2
- Completed 1 render
- Imported render into imovie
- started up another render
- Looked into sounds > found a promising site that had both the sounds that I wanted but I think that the shortcuts to download them don't work because they might be geared towards PCs, or its because of the notice that says that the site had been hacked and so the downloads aren't working properly
- Tried finding any other sites that I could use that had the sounds I needed and did not succeed
- Went on to write Research Paper while rendering files
4/29/10 STUFF!!!!
I did not get to do anything between tuesday and today due to me freaking out about getting multiple papers done in one night (which did not happen because I was freaking out). I'm over it now and ready to do work, thankfully I've been keeping up to date in this class so I feel confident about getting things done on time.
Today's Plan:
Today's Plan:
- Render > Render > Render > Render!!!!
- Put all renders into imovie
- Complete all the movie edits by 10 PM tonight (I need to work on my essays, once they are done on sunday I can go back to do final details and fix ups)
Tuesday, April 27, 2010
Classwork 4/27/10 >>>> 4
3:06 PM
- Waiting for second camera to render
- Working on finding sound effects for ball, and it's starting to look like I have no choice and am going to have to make them myself, good thing I already started on that
Classwork 4/27/10 >>>> 3
2:06 PM
- First render of 15 to 90 is complete
- Started second render of 15-90
- Now just to wait
classwork 4/27/10 >>>> 2
1:30-2:00 PM
- Still rendering the first camera angle
- Set up 8 camera positions
- Blyth brought up the consideration of adding a subtle lumination to the ball for it to draw more attention
Classwork 4/27/10
12:30-1:30 PM
- Blogged about what I was going to be doing in class
- Opened scene file in c4d
- created file in imovie > created event folder > imported a copy of the first mov file
- checked the mov file to make sure that it worked in imovie since quicktime was having some difficulties playing it after it was rendered > Success!
- Talked with Blyth as far as the color scheme and the perspectives of the camera
- I'm keeping some of the changes that Blyth made as suggestions
- I changed the color of the sky to a dark navy blue and a rustic gold orange
- The infinite floor I gave dull green to match the color of the light and removed the first light (the Green Light)
- Changed the second light (the one Blyth had put in) to the same color as the sky so that there was a direct correlation between the two
- Right now I'm rendering frames 15 through 90 for another camera angle
- I might change the intensity of the red
4/27/10 Class
My plan today is to:
- import my mov file into imovie and make changes there
- add open credits and ending credits
- if there are any other angles that I want ; render them and import to imovie

4/22/10 Class
12:20-2:35 PM
- Opened the ball file and changed the values a few times, making previews to check; the ending values are: X&Z: 1.25, .95...etc.,Y: .85, 1...etc.
- The problem of the day was a matter of size and angle, when I merged the ball file into the scenery file the ball was the same size as the trees and 90 degrees out of place
- Solution for the problem: Enlarge the scene (trees and all) and rotate the set-up 90 degrees to the right
- Now I modified the placement of the trees; and the tree that the ball stops by I enlarged and shifted off to the side while moving 2 other trees to fill in large gaps in the center of the scene
- The light (although I really didn't want to change it) had to be modified in order to increase the amount of light; I tested different effects be decided that I was just going to make the light bigger so that way I didn't have to tweak too much and lose the effect that I was going for, and I had to shift its position to be a bit higher and off to the right
- I'm typing this as the scene is rendering and it just finished now at about 3:05 PM so it took around a half hour, give or take.
Note: I have files saved to the hard drive and as soon as I finish this post I'm going to put them into my folder on this computer #14
plans for 4/22
- Figure out the exact values for the squash and stretch of the ball
- Merge the file into the scene I've already created
- And if possible do a preview, then a test of the animated scene
Class 4/20/10 tuesday
12:30-3:00 PM
- Presented my alpha ball bounce sequence to Blyth
- It needed a more realistic bounce to it, the physics were off and needed to be corrected
- Looked at an example of ball bouncing from an ad
- Looked for a picture sample displaying the physics behind ball bouncing. Blyth found some sites and emailed the links for them to my Montserrat account (I haven't been on a computer since tuesday, so I haven't gotten to look at them yet)
- With the physics of the ball bounce there were two samples, one in which the height was the only thing that decreased, the other: both the height and the distance it landed each time decreased (that was the one that I had been trying to replicate)
- Blyth and I set up a spline but it wouldn't quite complete the task, it was discovered that it would probably be easier to animate the shape especially when Blyth had found a function in the timeline window that allowed for alterations could be made by changing the display to its graph function
- Blyth had figured out the math, which frames to set the motion to starting with the addition of 15 and have the number decay by for each cycle
- Once the frames were figured out I set it up on my computer with the starting height being 1 block (ten squares) and base width being 1 block; the pattern: height decrease by 1, base width decrease by 1/2 a square.
- The squash and stretch was rather funny to start working on; I had put the values into the wrong places the ZX were supposed to be the same values at the same interval and Y the opposite value, I've fixed that but the values input into the animation need to be altered so that the gravity with the 3d ball that I'm using comes out so that its regular sized when its at full height on each arc and squashed at its landing point at the base

Outside of Class 4/20/10
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Increased the width of the plane in Scenery_4_20.c4d
- Went into detail on the ball bounce alpha file in c4d > played it > realigned animation spline > played > tweaked the spline again > Shorted the length of the animation to approx. 140 frames > Rendered 3 tests that took about 2 minutes each after making adjustments
- Opened up garageband and recorded ball bounce sounds and toyed with the effects and tried to get the sound right despite not having an actual rubber ball. The sound was to help me get the bounce right
- Saved all updated files with date to flash drive and went to class

Really Late Post for the Visiting Artist: Joel Frenzer
I had come into his discussion in the middle of the first clip that was being shown with the little boy and the tiger.
When he said that the sound for this animation had actually been a sound test for script that his ex-wife and he and written I was rather surprised. Though as I thought about it the idea seemed to make sense to me especially when I thought about the times when I had a camera running and my family would do improv, it was so much smoother than giving roles to play.
I liked the way that he would set a simple goal for himself and complete it in the most interesting way; although plans are good to have they don't always follow thru exactly as scheduled so there are less disappointments.
Now, hearing from someone who has used the Final Cut program I really would like to give it a try but after looking around at price tags I don't think that I'll be getting it for a while.

4/11/10
5:20-530 PM worked on plan
- I found that there is a lot of space left in case something goes seriously wrong like on previous projects I can still get it done
4/8/10 Class
PLanning for next project
- Download plan format > print
- Watched videos on youtube for ideas
- Decided on a ball bouncing through forest, one point perspective, 2d alphas, limited color pallet
- Did a simplified storyboard (2 pages)
- Started planning
Tuesday, April 6, 2010
Class 4/5/10
- Went over moodle assignments as a class
- Download planning document
- Worked on idea
3) Work on Idea
- Researched on aniboom.com, and youtube.com
- Discussed the continuous problems that show up in my work and harm them rather than better them
- Came up with rules that I could not break while working on this assignment so that I don't distract myself with minor details
- Formulated idea for animation: A ball coming towards the viewer
- The objects will all be alphas on a 3d plane
Started work on Storyboard
Thoughts for Final Project 2d 3d 4/5/10
2d alphas - Scenery (sketchy) [draw traditional or photoshop]
I've decided to set up a list of rules that I have to follow in creating this project so that I don't distract myself with the details and COMPLETE the assignment in full without losing any of the quality in the process.
Rules:
I've decided to set up a list of rules that I have to follow in creating this project so that I don't distract myself with the details and COMPLETE the assignment in full without losing any of the quality in the process.
Rules:
- Flat Colors
- Narrative (understandable)
- Scenery 2d in 3d space
- Maximum of 3-5 colors throughout animation
- Sketchy opening and closing credits
- 2d alphas hand drawn
- 1 Stationary Camera
- Style: sketchy
- Sounds: real
- NO CHARACTERS!!!!!
- Limited number of alphas
- 1 alpha is animated
- Environment Light
Idea Itself:
- A ball going towards the viewer.
- The camera is straight on.(stationary)
- Scenery is the grass and trees.(stationary)
Faktori Review
The outline of the process was simple whereas the process of the projects creation was far from simple;
I was able to keep up with with my plan up until the days before spring break and was only able to work on it for approximately 2 hours but was fortunately able to catch back up. Then came the rendering, I had set for the scenes to render one at a time and as the first two finished I went to put them into imovie and found that they were groups of tiff files and had to render them as quicktime movs.
The first scene had to be cut as a means of getting everything done on time, and so did a bunch of textures.
For next time I will:

- Use non-reflective or limited reflection materials on objects!!!!!!!!
- Fix timing!!!!!!
- TELL THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Finish!!!

Self Evaluations : Project 2 : Flythru
This project became more difficult than it really needed to be
Self Evaluations : Project 1 : Allegory
The programming was new to me but I believe that I was able to grasp the task required of me for this assignment.
Toying with the lighting, coloring and manipulating objects for a dramatic effect of one scene.
Creating a fly thru for this was realtivily simple once i knew how to animate the camera thanks to the flythru excerise.

Stupid Me (I want tto snap my fingers and have it all be magically done...or at least most of it)
3/29
- 7:13-8:20 PM - I was frustrated with the simple problems that I was having and rendered what I could properly, I refused to go to sleep until the render was complete (which ended up making me stay up all night organizing my thoughts... Unfortunately I have to work to tonight but I'm going to to have to ask to get off early so that I can finish editing.)
3/30
Time: ??? -
I fixed the group animation by doing the following:
- Created a new file, deleted everything with the exception of the building with the machines
- Fixed the arrangement of the doll group in its own file and merged into new file
- Shrunk doll group and animated the attributes
- Set up render (I accidentally had it render to .tiff files which I didn't realize until after I had rendered two of them and had to set it up again as a quicktime movie)
- At this moment in time a file is being rendered on my computer at home (My computer has been going at it for days, days that I should have posted here but in my frustration I only posted some of it.)
So right now my only problem is rendering files, its not that they aren't working its that I keep setting them up wrong and have to do them over and over again which causes a chain reaction. My computer is constantly running as it renders and I have other things that I need to do on it at the same time but opening other programs besides cinema 4d slows down the render even more....etc....etc.....etc........
I'm going to try to squeeze in time to throw together an presention for the research project that I have gathered on my computer but I dodn't know if I'll be able to get it done tonight and be able to sleep.
I'm going to Anime Boston this weekend and so I'm stressing myelf out now so that I have everything complete so I can have a stress free weekend with my friends that I've been planning for months.
---Note to self:
Things to do(everything):
- email friend and high scholl multimedia teacher
- call my family to update them on what's going on
- finish props
- finish costume for bro
- write 4 page essay for eng comp II
- come up with subject and thesis statement for Art history II paper & find source books
- Complete all 2d hw (for there are no known due dates)
- SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sleep deprevation is starting to catch up to me and I need to be up bright and early for classes to morrow since I'm going to miss class(es) on monday due to weekendc plans...)

3/29 Problems solutions and plans
2:30 am
- PROBLEM: I had grouped an object then ungrouped it later in the animation. I didn't realize that it would affect the animation track and that contributes to my earlier problem of scenes rendering but nothing happening in the projected window.
- SOLUTION: I'm going to merge the Kimmi doll group file again and multiply it so that for each scene up to the point I divided the group in the later animation I can simply move the group rather than having to go back and animate each individual one.
- EFFECT(S): I will (need Tuesday to) complete it btw. 9:15AM-3:30PM (because I have to go to work).
- PLAN(S): Mon- Complete new animations pieces for designated scenes in beginning of Factory shots with group, Render after completing each corrected scene; Tues- Edit renders in iMovie and add sound
Rendering Files 3/25-3/29
I started rendering one scene at a time without changing the frames so only the first render has everything that it needs to. This I only realized this sunday afternoon when I imported the MOVs into imovie to edit. I should have checked yesterday afternoon, that's a mistake on my part; So I reset the frames necessary and started to render scenes again.
The exterior camera that zooms into the city and focuses on the factory building has some bugs that I failed to mention in my blog on 3/25. I briefly looked into the problem and decided to drop it and render the other scenes which were more important then go back to tackle the camera/spline path issue before Tuesday (3/30, since it was the intended deadline).
Looks like I'll be working on it Monday after all my classes and unfortunately (but quite possibly) on Tuesday. As long as I can get the 6 renders done by 8 am Tuesday morning then I'll be in excellent shape to finish before 1:30 pm.
For now I'll render 1 scene at a time and make sure to prep the next render.

2:30-3 PM
- The grouped object of Kimmi dolls is animated on the factory conveyor belts on segment at a time
So far there haven't been any problems. When it comes time to render all I have to do is select the camera I want and then I'll edit it from there
I think that I'll actually be able to do a test render this afternoon, if it comes out right then I'll set up each one consecutively into a folder labeled MOV!!!
*-^_______________^-*
2/25/10 In/Outside of Class- 2
1:30-2:30pm
- Shrank grouped object of Kimmi dolls, rotated axis and object to simplify the animation process
- Switched to camera F1 perspective
- Moved the dolls along the conveyor belt while calculating the time I want it to take
In/Outside of Class 3/25/10
12:30-1:30 pm
- Able to log in to the school computer but found that something in my account preferences is keeping me from being able to open and use Cinema 4D
- I tried opening the program through opening the file and simply by trying to open the program itself on multiple computers and was unsuccessful
- The exact cause is unknown but I was excused from the classroom setting to work at home where Cinema 4D opens for me while the problem is sorted out by one of the techs
- Once home updates were installed to my computer and restarted
- I opened the program and opened my most recent file upon inserting my flash drive into keyboard USB port
- Opened Kimmi file in c4d and made adjustments to the shape, size, texture, number of dolls, grouped them, merged them into main file scene2_3_25_2.c4d
3/25/10 Outside of Class
10:40 am - 12:00 pm
- Set up camera in the Lobby & animated it
- Set up 5 cameras in the factory scene (cams are stationary)
Wednesday, March 24, 2010
3/25/10 Outside of Class
1:20 am -Went over files and blogged about tuesday's class
- Opened file scene2_3_23_3 and found a mistake with the texture application following my actions in class when I grouped objects together
- For the sake of time I decided to choose one of the tag textures and move on
- Added Another Camera called Lobby Cam
PLANS BTW NOW & CLASS:
- Animate camera to focus on screen
- Set up cameras in the factory itself approx. 4 cameras in total (all stationary except for one)
- Merge Kimmi Dolls into the Factory and arrange in a group on conveyor
- Pick 2 audio tracks; 1 for in the factory and the 2nd for the entrance into the lobby
PLANS FOR CLASS:
- Animate the Kimmi Dolls moving down the conveyor
- Animate separation sequence
- Animate texture application (on/off)
IN Class 3/23/10
3/23/10
- Retrieved necessary file with my flash drive and switch to another computer (saved on: HD, FD, & House/ filename: scene2_3_23)
- Added buildings to cityscape
- Tested various textures
- Merged FaktoriR file to scene2_3_23
- Multiple files were saved with particular changes: scene2_3_23_1, scene2_3_23_2(with multi textures), scene2_3_23_3(most up to date)
- Set up and animated camera to spline > tested movement > tested angles > adjusted (timeline plotted)
Tuesday, March 23, 2010
Today's "Plans" 3/23/10
- Move to another Computer where cinema 4d works and transfer my work files to the hard drive
- Set up lights and cameras
- Find and load sounds
- Animate
Note to Self:
I fell behind due to overextending myself in everything that I'm doing and thus exhausted myself. On the 18th from 8:30-9:45 PM I was able to make some additions to the city scape when I couldn't find a place to download one quickly (I had been multitasking and split my screen between youtube for my brothers and cinema 4D; as I was working on and off on that day I found that the factory room that I had put conveyor belts on wasn't saved to my flash drive, I only had the file before there were conveyor belts and this discouraged me from putting cameras and lighting into an incomplete space that I knew were on the hard drive on the school's computer that I usually work at.
Also in looking at my schedule was flawed, I didn't put down time to animate, only time to render and edit so I'll do as listed above and have it completed by MARCH 24th, 2010 (WEDNESDAY)
That means I'll be able to do a test render either late wednesday night or by thursday morning after my first class that ends at 9:45 am.
Thursday, March 11, 2010
3/11/10 Checklist (What was Accomplished today) and then some
IN Class:
4:00-5:30 PM
- Lobby Complete
- Machines 95% Complete
- Building setup 100% Complete
- Environment 50%
- City 0%
4:00-5:30 PM
- Started working on finishing the conveyor belts for the machines
Was then asked to move anything that was mine from the table so it could be cleaned.
I did, I offered to move my roommate's things from the table to our room was told no. Told that she's stressed. I hadn't known but didn't say anything, I thought they wanted to clean off the table. I thought about how I would react to my stuff being moved when I'm stressed out and personally I don't think that I'd care as long as it was all put in my room without breaking anything.
I know, ridiculous thing to get pissed off about but on top of it one of my housemates was playing her music obnoxiously loud and it was crap!!!!! But me being me I couldn't figure out a way to say "turn it the fuck down!" nicely so I packed up my shit and left the apartment.
- Finished conveyor belts
I need something to improve my mood, I can work on this later.
I WILL GET EVERYTHING ON MY SCHEDULE DONE BY FRIDAY JUST LIKE MY POST FROM EARLIER SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3/11/10 Today's Plan!!!
12:20-3:00 PM
- Complete lobby set up > including textures (if rendering problems occur later I can always delete the textures) [2nd scene]
- Make factory machines (if rendering problems occur later I can always delete the textures)
- Complete factory room set up [3rd scene]
- Complete simple buildings for surrounding city (if rendering problems occur later I can always delete the textures) [1st scene]
- Start placement of cameras > target/stationary
3:30-7:00 PM
- Set up all light sources > position > color
- Download sounds to assigned folder
Goal for Today:
- All objects will be complete and in place
- Cameras will be in place and attributes set
- Lights will be in place and attributes set
- Sounds will be in assigned folder
Plan for Friday:
- Animate > camera(s) > objects > light(s)
Monday, March 8, 2010
3/8/10 Outside of Class -Project Blog Entry-
9:45-11:08 PM
- Watched character design tutorial chapters 1 and 4 (First Joints & Arm IK and Softfinger Controllers)
I had to skim through some parts but I believe that I got the important stuff down (I haven't tried it yet). The voice of the guy giving the tutorial (I swear) is french due to the heavy accent, now combine that with a serious tone, it's hard to pay full attention to him.
In addition he tends to repeat himself but as I look back on it repetition is a memorization tool so I'll leave it at that. Another reason for skimming was that he would explain things a little too in depth rather than playing show and tell, that was really distracting from the lesson itself but I learned from it and now my lesson on joints are done and all I need to do is practice them.

Visiting Artist!!!! Feb 25th 2010
I had recorded all but a few minutes of the discussion when I was switching the the memory cards.
The theory presented in the discussion was an interesting as well as a convincing argument on the interpretations of particular character shapes that distinguish the favorable to the rejected. Finding out that the visiting artist had once taught at Montserrat and had been the roommate of someone who had become a large part of the animation community (I don't remember his name offhand).
To be honest I was disappointed when it ended because it had been so intriguing, but as soon as I can get my camcorder to connect with my Mac I plan on uploading the vid and getting back in contact with the Dean of students who had talked to me just following the event.

Tardy, Tardy, Tardy
I hate the idea of being late with assignments but as long as I'm able to get them done the saying better late than never comes to mind...
I had read about Second Life long before march 1st but I hadn't read the full assignment that said that we had to write a response to it, I know, not an excuse.
Response:
The style of the writing in the article was abnormal and I found it difficult to get myself to read every single word and found myself skimming over its contents.
What I did find interesting was that some people actually use Second Life as a means of making a living through avatar to avatar transactions. I must admit that I'm tempted to try this myself since soon after going through this article I created my own avatar via the free membership and once I'm use to the setup I think that I might just try a few transactions myself. *-^__^-*

2:23 PM Dreams of Absolute Happiness!!!!! (Posted @ 3:10 PM)
I figured out all the bugs rendered it and since 2:23 PM I've been coming up with sound for the rendered WordPlay Animation Assignment.
After so much frustration it feels great to have 95% of the process done (the next 5 % being the creation of the sound > editing > and inputing)
P.S. I'm sorry that I chose to work on it at home but I wasn't in the best state of mind to try getting work done in class. I have no real medical excuse, but I'm in a much better mood and state of mind now; I think I was frustrating myself because I couldn't remember how to do certain things, but I know that if I work them out myself I have a higher chance of remembering how to go about doing it next time.

2/25/10 -Outside of Class- 2
During Class Time @ Home
- I solved the previous problem and came into contact with another > the Timeline Window is (to put it bluntly) being a pain in the ass. It won't let me use the control click function...
- I just thought of something, I'll try that
2/25/10 -Outside of Class-
10:00-12:30 PM
- Tried to animate FAST by enlarging and shrinking to give the impression of revving an engine > I'm still trying to get it to work
- I connected both the words pieces so there are only to simple objects to work with
- I decided to drop the cloud part of the plan as well and probably substitute it with the scroll through of the word start going to the right > the speeding screech of the tires will be heard but the word fast will become invisible (in order to stay true the to idea of the assignment) > slow will be moving to the right slowly until beyond the scope of the stationary camera

2/18 -Outside of Class-
8:00 AM -Now
10:00-11:00 AM
10:00-11:00 AM
- Thought over ideas for storyboard assignment due in class later today
- Drew out the Storyboard
- Meanwhile Starting around 8:00AM I set up a render for the FlyThru which wasn't done by class time
2/18 (What was suppose to be a HW assignment...)
I know that this is late but I figured that it would be best that I listened to the track anyway.

Even with the small amount of toying with sound effects in audacity and garageband, and I'm still amazed with how household sounds are used as sound effects yet seem so different when they are put together with a particular motion or image.
Ever since I first saw the Star Wars movies I wondered how they came up with those sounds. When I heard how they were made and with what it made sense; when in high school the students in my graphic design class were less than productive if given the slightest chance of freedom, during the last couple minutes of class they decided to play around discovered that the microphone on the eMac gave off a sound whenever something passed over it. That's when they got the wise idea to put various things by the microphone and recorded the sounds that they made and played them back: keyboard, hand, mouse, pen, etc. (In other words I knew about the sounds that a microphone could pick up and how strange they can sound on their own.)
I am extremely grateful to Ben Burtt for his movie sound effects in both Star Wars and Wall-E which are both great movies. And the emotion that he was able to capture for Wall-E with primarily no actual language being spoken by him matched up well.
---
Just listening to the sounds makes me want to play around with them though the interview did give me sound ideas as to what I should try recording for the FlyThru project.
I think I'll try recording the sound of a rubber band being snapped as well as a few other things, but that's on the top of my list.

2/11/10 -Outside of Class-
8:30-11:00PM
...I was trying to remind myself the order in which I did work but suddenly my program is not working. I'll repost this when I figure out what's wrong.
--
11:30-12:15AM
Okay after investigating the problem I fixed it despite not being a hundred percent sure about what was wrong. I'm leaning towards the application being inappropriately moved from one place to another, solution: putting the application in the dock after loading a file through Terminal.
--
Although not in order this is what I did:

Although not in order this is what I did:
8:30-11:00PM
- Tweaked the shape of the transparent room
- Turned the lights off in the environment
- Added a Plane for the floor
- Applied a Material Texture to the floor ([Name]:faded floor)
- Removed the wall that was dividing the space and moved objects
- Tweaked the object I've labeled as Console (I plan to change the material texture on it)
- Added cylinder shapes to scene to finalize the construction of the objects
- Applied material textures to the aforementioned cylinders
- Altered the shape of the object labeled Closet (Need to change the Material texture to something less reflective or at least alter it)
12:45-1:30AM
- Changed the Materials texture for the Cabinet, and the Console
- Raised the level of the ceiling in the room
- Rendered a test screen shot as a PSD
Feb 4th -Outside Class-
3:30-6:00PM
- Set up Cinema 4D on home computer >
- Skimmed through manual >
- Opened up a new file >
- Tested out how to edit stored shapes by point, plane, and line segment >
- Practiced with the tools on different shapes, applied booleans >
- Deleted all shapes and set up a cube >
- Applied hypernerbs >
- Tweaked the settings for the amount of tiles to a plane >
- Started to make a face/mask (it had been my goal to do when I was in Multimedia at my high school, I had gotten close)
2/11/10 -Outside of Class-
- 11-12:25pm Working on Textures and structures in fly thru
- 12:30-1:40pm Set up render on other computer > Continue work on Fly thru (Downloaded some textures, imported them into the project file, applied textures and experimented with the lighting, [not quite sure on how to use the sun as a light, I WILL look it up])
- 1:50-3:00pm Checked on render (will have to restart the render, it was taking too long) > Applied textures to edited structures (tried to do a Taper [or resize a plane on one of the cylinders] but I couldn't remember how) > Edited Blog

2/9/10 #2
- 1:20-3:00 pm Setting up Environment for Fly Thru > save as project > back up files (flythru2010 > flythru_2_9_10)
2/9/10
- 12:25-12:30 Set up files
- 12:30-1:15 Completing 4 drawings for ideas on next project (it was HW from the previous class... *-^_^0*)
- IDEA: (Since I've been on an Astroboy kick for the past couple of days) I figured that I'd go sci-fi and set up the environment of a laboratory. The perspective is of the character is a young child who wondered into the lab and discovers something which is where the scene ends (completed by 1:15pm)
